LOCATION: Ourimbah, Central Coast, NSW.
The Councils of the Central Coast have finally after years of discussion decided to merge together to form the new Central Coast Regional Council, this new Council will govern the entire Central Coast from Gwandalan to Ettalong, the Council seeks to create a new landmark council headquarters, The council’s wish is that the building would provide a symbol of civic domain for the region, their intent is to start in a fresh location and to look the future as to further prosper the Central Coast.
The headquarters is built on flood prone land, the concept of headquarters is to build it on a wharf. The history of Ourimbah that being an old milling town led to the conceptual approach of creating a village in the bush, this village is made out of local timber’s of the area and built using traditional methods of timber construction, thus creating Tall Timbers Village.
