When brewing beer, a waste product called ‘mash tun’ is created which is typically underutilised. But what if this by-product wasn’t wasted, and instead used as a food source for growing mealworms? That is the aim of The Mash Farm.

This concept stems from growing population rates and subsequently the need for alternate food sources. In a culture where westerners have an aversion to eating insects, The Mash Farm aims to normalise this act by pairing it with an Australian tradition, drinking beer.

A hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer and a big cold beer needs a burger with worms.
