PROJECT LOCATION: Newcastle, Australia
The Central Regatta Facility is a state of the art multi-purpose entertainment, viewing and organisational space for marine based sports.
Located on a man-made spit of land between the harbour and the sea, this building compliments the blossoming industry cluster of maritime service facilities located within Newcastle.
The building form is inspired by the airfoil profile utilised aeronautics and hydrodynamic structures; it is evocative of the original Nobbies Island as well as the weathered form of the Fort Scratchlies Headland.
This project Seeks to capture the excitement and drama of a sailing regatta. It aims to promote Newcastle as a world-class destination for Super Yachts and Grand Prix Sailing Events.
