James Fletcher Sanctuary by Christian Barkowski

The project proposal is a voluntary, therapeutic micro-community or sanctuary at the James Fletcher Hospital site, where nomads or pedestrians of the area suffering depressive mental illnesses can exile to achieve assessment, therapy and mental re-alignment before being discharged back into society. As the creation of a new physical and spiritual centre, the sanctuary offers a program of mixed interpersonal, expressive and transpersonal therapies, where the provision of spiritual advice is paired with meditation, reflection, and the restorative benefit and enlightenment of one’s spirit.
