Luna Viridis – A greenhouse research facility & habitat to support 50 people in the North Pole region of earth’s moon. This facility is intended to fulfill a position in the timeline of 1-5 years after a future manned lunar landing mission. It will provide for long term research on growing plants for human consumption and environmental support (e.g. oxygen production, psychological benefits) with a view to supporting a Mars mission. As anyone with the available funding can apply for a placement as a research assistant, Luna Viridis will also provide an element of adventure tourism and foster the public excitement and inspiration that accompanies civilian participation in space activities.
