“One of our most important choices everyday is around food in terms of how far it comes from, how involved are we in the growing and sharing of it. And this, is one of the things that connect us all no matter where we live, we all eat to live. So food is a really powerful force of social change.”
Urban Green, Cabramatta, challenges the reality of the contemporary issues of food crisis and explores architectural solutions to provide a sustainable future. With food prices on an ever increasing rate and our growing conscience on our food’s origins, Urban Green feeds the community with fresh and locally produced vegetables and seafood on the upper floors. Whilst, the produce will be used to serve a permanent and temporary market space as well as eateries on the ground floor, and distributed to local stores and restaurants.
