PROJECT LOCATION: Blacktown, Sydney
Francis Park, Blacktown is occupied by sporting facilities and are in relatively poor condition. Blacktown and the western suburban area have a large sporting community and are in need of multi-use stadium which can facilitate shared community activity. This had generated the idea for an urban sporting complex to be located on the preferred site. the project provided an opportunity to revitalise an existing site as well as strengthening existing ties to sporting and culture within the area. providing a strong mix of sporting and residential uses is a central idea to the scheme. The intent is to develop a way of life where visitors and residents are immersed into the sporting arena in a similar manner to that which accustomed in other countries where sport based activities can be likened to a religious order which will help improve lives and bring people together.
